According to British scientists at the University of Liverpool, birth control pills alter a woman's sense of smell & preferences for men. Women, they claim, are wired to "smell" men with genes diverse from their own. When they are on the pill, they may choose different men who are more genetically similar. There may also be some risk that when a woman discontinues using the pill, her preferences in men may change, i.e. her current mate might no longer smell "right".
